Eat up before it’s gone

One Curriculum Enhancement day a young student asked me if I would come to the Food Technology room later in the morning so that I could see the food that he had made. I thought it was important that I responded positively so I assured him that I would be very pleased to come along. Despite the fact that I had a full morning of meetings etc. in my diary, I made a point of not letting him down. True to my word I went along at the appointed time and made sure that I sought him out amongst the other students in the group and went to him first. Pleased with myself that I hadn’t forgotten, although not with some considerable effort ,I went to him and asked if I could see his completed dish. He looked at me quite fleetingly and said “oh, I’ve eaten it” he paused and said “it was nice though”!
