Find the creak

To nullify the boredom of exam invigilation, one team of invigilators (one by one) would attempt to navigate their way through the hundred plus exam desks from one end of the hall to the other in the least number of floorboard creaks made.

Observing members of the team would carefully note the route taken and the next person would set off on a new route attempting to avoid the creaks and groans of the ancient wooden floor and to gain a lower ‘creak’ score.

As a professional it goes without saying that our ‘game’ did not detract from ensuring the exam was conducted as per expectations.
