Health and safety bureaucracy disfigurement

Once I received an email which was as a result of a recent Local Authority initiative entitled “Student Accident Notification”.

It informed me that one of our students had banged their head on a door frame on a barge whilst on a local authority organised day trip.

I did know about the incident, which was very minor, shortly after it happened so I had thought little of it.

When I read on, however, it categorised the accident with date and time: type of accident: (‘minor’), Details: (‘banged head’) Primary Cause: (falling into a door) etc.

Despite rapidly losing interest I was glad that I did finish reading it all as I wouldn’t have noticed how they categorised the outcome of the accident : “Body Part/action taken: (Head/amputation)”
