My bad

During lesson one I was walking around the school and saw about five or six unsupervised year 11 boys sitting around a table in a break-out space. Noting that this group were some of my more “Likely Lads” I took a walk over to them, shamefully fearing the worst. When I got to them they were all fully engrossed in critically appraising the work produced by each other. The quality of their conversation was excellent and it struck me that, had it been recorded, it would be something that regularly appears on “Teachers TV”, held up as an excellent example of “assessment for learning”. Always willing to acknowledge an error on my part, I congratulated the boys roundly, and agreed, at their request for doubting them, to buy them a drink (soft!) at lunchtime.
