Taking up a kind offer by two Sixth Form students to help cater for after match teas for our 60 rugby players and guests, I was introduced to a new and interesting strength of tea.
After filling the large (45 cup) teapot with boiling water the helpers busied themselves with the edibles to be served along with the tea.
I decided to start pouring the tea but found that the teapot was extraordinarily weighty and then discovered that only dribbles of dark brown liquid emerged.
On taking off the teapot lid I discovered a solid mass and was consequently prompted to enquire as to what was put into the pot before the water.
Sir, “you said that we were catering for 60 people so we put in 60 teabags” !
