Snow good

Perhaps children are essentially the same the whole world over. I once had a formal meeting  with some South African visitors from our link school in Cape Town, I asked the children what surprised them most about their experience in London, which was their very first time out of Cape Town.  Two particularly culturally perceptive responses made me laugh. One said that she was most surprised at the fact that it wasn’t snowing,  as it was her belief that it always snowed in England. Another said that, contrary to the prevailing view in SA that food in England was terrible, it was, in fact, really very good.
