Suit You Sir

It was the last day of teaching practice and our final year student was doing the rounds of colleagues thanking them for his time with us.

I was in the pool area teaching Year 8 pupils how to dive when the doors opened and our student entered.

He stood by the door smartly dressed in his suit, carrying his brief case

and waited patiently, obviously not wishing to interrupt my teaching.

Then, without warning, but with a very loud authoritative voice he bellowed:

“That’s not the way to do it”

and, fully clothed, clutching his briefcase, he dived in.

There was absolute silence and gasps from the whole class, then a huge roar and cheer of approval.

I must admit I had huge admiration for the unique way of  bidding  farewell from a confident & well loved teacher-to-be.

Clearly a man immersing himself in his career!
