When honesty is questionably the best policy

Absence letters, I found, varied in nature and style. Some were simply factual, others offered a little commentary and others simply stated that their child would be absent from school with no reason given. I was unsure what category to put this one in, but it was one of my favourites –

“My son will not be in school on Thursday and Friday as we are going to Glastonbury         and this will be the last time we can get him in for half price”!
