On my first teaching practice as a PE student I had to observe the Head of PE. On one occasion he was required to deal with some chaos in the boys changing room. The Head of PE was something of a ‘Sergeant Major type to say the least. Whilst all the boys were getting on with changing into their gym kit, one boy was stood on the bench making no attempt to get changed. The ‘Sergeant Major’ approached him and bellowed in his ear “why aren’t you getting changed ………..!” The boy replied, somewhat brazenly, “I ain’t got no kit”. In an effort to solicit a respectful “Sir” from the recalcitrant youth he bellowed even louder… “I ain’t got no kit…. what?” Without hesitation the boy replied “I ain’t got no (expletive deleted) kit!”
